Why have a Vows Ceremony?
May be the law is preventing you from being married exactly where your would like, or maybe you are marrying abroad and want a further ceremony to include the family and friends who are unable to be with you. You may already be married and wish to renew your vows to celebrate a special anniversary or even to make a fresh start. You may even be a same sex couple wishing to celebrate your partnership having already undertaken the legal civil partnership.
Whatever the reason a vows ceremony will help you create a more meaningful ceremony which is tailor made for you.
What is a Vows Ceremony?
IT IS NOT A LEGAL CEREMONY. YOU WILL HAVE TO BE LEGALLY MARRIED FIRST.
You can get legally married quietly with just two witnesses or close family and then invite all your family and friends to a fuller ceremony at your reception venue. This maybe in your own home or garden, hotel, community centre, marquee, yacht, castle etc. I am happy to discuss alternative venues with you.
I will spend time with you before the big day discussing exactly how you want to celebrate your ceremony. The great news is that because the ceremony has no legal standing you are free to include elements which would not be allowed in a civil ceremony such as readings, hymns, prayers, promises etc. You could, if you wish even write your own personal vows.
As a qualified registrar I can also advise you on the preliminaries needed for your legal marriage.
